Parry's Songs of Farewell Rehearsal CDs available here!
We're currently producing our own edition of Sir C. Hubert H. Parry's well-loved set of motets Songs of Farewell. Written between 1907 and 1914, Songs of Farewell contains some of Parry's greatest music. The composer's scheme uses a four part choir for motets one and two, adding an additional voice for each of the subsequent pieces.
The motivation for producing our own edition was not so much commercial as a desire to produce a clearly-printed and accurate edition, and to the latter end we're consulting Parry's own autograph manuscripts (by kind permission of the Music Librarian at the Bodleian Library in Oxford).
